The nursery group has bought Kingfisher Day Nursery, one of the settings operated by Kingfisher Day Nurseries whose owner Helen Allanson has decided to downscale the chain.
With the deal, the Hollies Day Nurseries now has five nurseries – all in Nottingham, providing a total of 340 childcare places.
Former owner of Kingfisher Day Nursery Helen Allanson said, ‘I bought the nursery 17 years ago and have worked hard to transform the building into an open, light-filled space with excellent care and learning opportunities. I intend to continue working with the other three settings for the next few years.’
A spokesperson for Hollies Day Nurseries said, ‘Hollies Day Nurseries is excited to take over Kingfisher and welcomes the team, children, and families to the Hollies family. We are looking forward to all the new and exciting opportunities we will offer them all.’
Kids Planet has also acquired another site.
The nursery group, which has more than 100 settings, has bought The Green Nursery in Halesowen, West Midlands.
Clare Roberts, chief executive of Kids Planet, said, ‘We are really excited to have The Green Nursery join the Kids Planet group. Being based in the Midlands, it is a wonderful addition to our already strong presence in this area for providing high-quality childcare. It is a beautifully presented setting and is a true testament to the dedication of Rob and his caring team. It was apparent from our first visit to The Green Nursery that they hold similar values to Kids Planet as they want to provide outstanding care to the children, and I believe they will integrate perfectly into the Kids Planet family.’
Both deals were handled by Christie & Co.
