EYP Update: Impairment benefits EYP's practice

Early Years Professional Rachel Parish is a pre-school supervisor at Willow Set Pre-School in Stoke St Gregory, Somerset.

Rachel has 15 years experience in early years work, but it wasn't until she embarked on EYPS that she was diagnosed with dyslexia. However, she finds that this is having a positive effect on the way she works with children.

Rachel says, 'After graduating with a degree in Early Years and Childhood Studies I heard about EYPS and decided that this should be the next step for me.

'At first I struggled with the training and after completing some written exercises, my course tutor confirmed that I am severely dyslexic. Initially I was shocked because I'd been through school and catering college and started my degree without anyone picking it up. However, the support I received on the course was fantastic and I was determined not to be held back by my dyslexia.
