A charity aiming to promote

A charity aiming to promote the safety of children and young people was established last week in tribute to the murdered schoolgirl Amanda 'Milly' Dowler. The charity, Milly's Fund, aims to improve the ability of children and young people to gauge risk and protect themselves, while providing training and education for teachers and youth workers. Sally Dowler, Milly's mother, said, 'Not only will the charity help to preserve Milly's memory but it will also provide guidance and training, and hopefully help prevent a tragedy happening to anyone else.' The initial work undertaken by Milly's Fund will focus on those in their early teens who are just beginning to lead more independent lives. Milly's Fund can be contacted at PO Box 470, Walton-on-Thames, Surrey KT12 3XZ.
