A choice for the Government

The Government apparently made its decision on the results of a survey of 1,300 parents which showed that 82 per cent and 73 per cent of them appeared to think it fine for childminders to smack and smoke respectively.

Recently a group of us, including childminders, day nursery staff and parents, met with our local MP, Jane Griffiths, and representatives from social services to discuss the changes, which are part of the proposed national standards for daycare in England.
