A grand day out - grandparents

Children recreated the days of their grandparents' and great-grandparents' childhoods by donning cloth caps and shawls and singing old music hall songs, as part of their Grandparents' Day at Carousel Kindergarten in Merridale, Wolverhampton.

Children recreated the days of their grandparents' and great-grandparents' childhoods by donning cloth caps and shawls and singing old music hall songs, as part of their Grandparents' Day at Carousel Kindergarten in Merridale, Wolverhampton.

Parents were asked to dress their children in old-fashioned clothes for the special day. Shawls, hats, long skirts and aprons were part of the girls' wardrobe; waistcoats and cloth caps part of the boys'. For the concert, the younger children sang Daisy, Daisy', while the older children sang, My old man said follow the van' and Oh I do like to be beside the seaside'.
