A month in the life of Harry Tobias

Harry continues to have turn-taking conversations with his family, keeping eye contact with them and smiling readily. He studies faces intently and is amused by fingers wiggled in front of him, showing his excitement in his eyes and body movements and uttering excited noises. When having his nappy changed, Harry was fascinated by the circular door of the washing machine. He could see his reflection and that of items around the room. He vocalised to them excitedly and stared intently.

Harry remains a lightweight baby, weighing 10lb 10oz at two and a half months. This places him on the second centile of his growth chart, but as he is alert and active this is not considered problematic. His mother now offers him a bottle of formula mid-evening to ensure he is getting sufficient milk.

Harry had his first immunisation injections this month. He did not cry, but he was unsettled for 24 hours afterwards, running a temperature and needing lots of cuddles.
