A way to vaccinate newborn babies safely and reduce infant mortality may have been discovered

A way to vaccinate newborn babies safely and reduce infant mortality may have been discovered by immunologists in the US. A study at the Children's Hospital in Boston found a molecule, called Toll-like receptor 8, which could be used to stimulate the immune system of newborns to enable vaccination. At present, most immunisations are not given to babies under 2 months old.
