Analysis: EYFS Qualifications List - do you need a top-up?

What are the implications for early years settings, practitioners, trainers and employers in the new Qualifications List? Karen Faux takes a look.

The introduction of the Qualifications List heralds a significant era of change for the early years sector. While it will take time for its full impact to be felt, many practitioners who read last week's news story in Nursery World have already been on to the Children's Workforce Development Council link to check out whether their childcare qualification requires further accredited training in order to be deemed 'full and relevant' by the CWDC for those delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage.

When you type your qualification into the CWDC's online ready reckoner, information will come up, explaining the mandatory and optional areas that need to be covered and giving the user recommendations on how to 'top up'.
