Apprentice boost

An additional 170 early years apprenticeships for 16- to 19-year-olds are to be created by the Scottish Government.

Education Secretary Fiona Hyslop said the apprenticeships were designedto help young people in Scotland into childcare and to increase thelevel of pre-school entitlement. The places will be funded by the 16 million announced in the Scottish budget for the recruitment of 7,800new apprentices. They will last between nine months and two years.
