Begrudging care

I work as a nanny and recently decided to change jobs. I find it unbelievable how many parents expect nannies to work long hours and offer us poor wages and conditions that would be unacceptable to most people. Parents talk about their children being their most precious possessions, yet are so often resentful about paying for good-quality care at home or in a nursery environment.

If you make the decision to have children it is up to you to ensure you have the means to give them the best care possible. If it means making a few lifestyle changes, then so be it. It should not be up to the Government to provide subsidies for childcare provision.
