Breast-fed babies are less likely to have behavioural problems by the age of five than those who drink formula milk, suggests a new study based on data from the Millennium Cohort Study and parents' views about potential behavioural problems in their children at age five.
The authors say the hormones in breast milk may help develop the function of the brain and central nervous system. The study is published in the Archives of Disease in Childhood.
