Capita scraps Strategies' replacement amid concerns over budgets

Edsight, the education consultancy set up by Capita to fill the gap left by the closure of National Strategies last month, has been axed.

Edsight was due to launch in May offering a training and support service for early years providers, schools and local authorities.

However, Capita said last week that a decision had now been taken not to go ahead with edsight in view of uncertainty over budgets and national policy.

Edsight was to offer membership support and training packages for nurseries, LAs and schools, typically costing £2,000 a year.

The move has left 25 former National Strategies staff, who were due to start work at edsight, without jobs. They include former senior directors Helen Moylett and Sue Robb, who had been appointed to lead the early years work at edsight.
