The nursery teacher and I alternate going with the children, who are enjoying the new experiences of using tools, playing games such as '1 2 3, where are you?', splashing in mud without having to worry and cooking over an open fire. Even going on the minibus was a daunting new experience for some of the children in the beginning.

I think Forest School builds confidence. We've seen over the years how children who are quite quiet become confident and take the lead, while the born leaders are prepared to take a step back and let the others lead.
