Child Benefit may be stopped at 13, says Frank Field

The Government's new poverty adviser Frank Field said that child benefit payments to families may be ended when children reach 13 years old.

In an interview with the Times last week, Mr Field also hinted at plans to tax child benefit and only allow parents to receive payments of up to £25,000 in the first three years after a child is born.
