Childcare strategy to be 'refreshed'

The ten-year childcare strategy is to be 'refreshed' in plans to be set out by the Government before Christmas, spelling out the direction of travel for policy on childcare quality and sufficiency.

Graham Archer, deputy director of childcare for DCSF, said that thepaper would look at the free entitlement, particularly fortwo-year-olds, funding and quality. A new discussion document from theTreasury on working tax credits is also considering how to help parentswith childcare costs.
