The Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years (PACEY) is calling for childminders to complete a short survey to help assess the potential impact of the Government's More Great Childcare reforms on the childminding sector.
The survey is the second part of a research project being carried out by the Institute of Public Policy research (IPPR) and funded by PACEY.
It considers how the Government’s plans might affect the childminding sector, including whether childminders would increase the number of children they care for, in light of planned changes to ratios.
The research will look at the potential effect of the proposals on the quality of childcare and education, and the wider impact on childcare affordability and access for families.
Last month, the National Childminding Association (NCMA) re-launched as PACEY.
Childminders who are not members of PACEY are also encouraged to fill out the survey, which can be found here.
The survey’s closing date is Monday 29 April.
A final report including evidence gathered from the survey and recommendations based on the needs of parents, children and childminders, will be published in June.
