The status of the charity, which has been supporting the sector since 1977, changed from ‘active’ to ‘in administration’ on Companies House today.

Chief executive of PACEY Helen Donohoe said that it will be announcing a new partnership to take PACEY forward ‘imminently’. She added, ‘As such we have been going through the legal process of administration to facilitate this. There will be communications released this week announcing details for members, other providers and stakeholders.’

PACEY was formed in 1977 as the National Childminding Association, founded by a small group of registered childminders, local authority staff and parents. It changed its name to PACEY in spring 2013, providing support to chuldminder members and working with government and local authorities to raise standards.

Helen Donohoe took on the role of chief executive in January 2023, replacing Liz Bayram.

Regular Nursery World contributor, author and trainer Penny Tassoni is PACEY’s President.

Following concerns on social media, PACEY has reassured its members that their membership, including insurance policy, will remain in place.

In a statement sent today (29 April), PACEY said, 'Note to members: Please be rest assured that your membership including insurance policy remains in place.

'Thank you for your support, you will hear more from us this week.'
