Children who have learning difficulties and special needs do as well in mainstream schools as special schools, according to a new report from Ofsted. However, they do best academically, socially and personally in mainstream schools with additionally funded provision. The report concludes that the key to success is high-quality, experienced teachers and commitment from school leaders.
