Classroom ceiling

Classroom assistants do a lot of work that is not under teacher supervision, and it is about time this was recognised and we were given a pay structure to go with it. We can't go up a scale when we have reached the top scale, yet teachers can get more money for taking on a role that classroom assistants are well capable of achieving. I am thinking of leaving my job because I do just as much work planning for my students as the teacher, but I get no reward for it. However, when the children achieve their goals the teacher gets the praise.
