Northern Ireland's Children's Commissioner has called for the urgent development of a comprehensive play strategy in the province. Calling for immediate action on a Government pledge to develop a strategy, Nigel Williams told the PlayBoard conference in Belfast, which was held on October 19, that play was fundamental to all children's mental and physical health and development and that they needed it 'today, not tomorrow'.
