Asthma UK would like us to point out that the photograph illustrating 'A guide to asthma' (Health, 27 August) was misleading and to clarify that children of nursery school age should always use a spacer when administering their medicine, rather than an inhaler straight into the mouth. This is because the inhaler technique is difficult for children to master, so medical professionals recommend using the spacer device, described in the feature, until adolescence.
