Cost of the strike

As a nursery nurse I totally agree with the review of the early years and childcare workforce in Scotland, as all nursery nurses are back in work doing two-and-a-half hours extra and loads more paperwork for nothing. Those of us who were on strike have lost more than 2,000 by being on strike, so that we are back in work and doing more work for less pay, due to the extra hours. No wonder we feel undervalued.

Also, look at the different pay scales. What is going to happen now is that nursery nurses are going to move to areas that offer them better pay and conditions. The result will be that some local authorities will end up with a staff shortage.
