Deep blue sea

Staff in the pre-school room at Positive Steps Day Nursery in Peterlee, Country Durham, have been encouraging children to play imaginatively with water by creating an undersea atmosphere to surround their water tray. Planned learning intentions (Stepping stones)

Step by step

* Suspend a square of white netting over the water tray by tying it to the ceiling at each corner. Do the same with a piece of blue fabric, sheeting or old curtain, suspending this under the netting.
