Do you believe everything you read?

So how reliable is the information you read? Just because it is published does not make it accurate. You need to be aware of bias, poor research methods and sensationalism. Internet sources

The internet is a fabulous resource, and increasingly information is being placed on the web to provide accessibility to users. The Government and agencies such as Ofsted are using it more and more and it is common to see full documents which are downloadable.

However, it is important that you look at the reliability of the information and ask critical questions. It is always worth trying to find a second source to substantiate the information you have found - particularly if you have any doubts about the reliability of the source.

Recent articles about childcare turning two-year-olds into tearaways is a reminder about how newspapers can build a story from the smallest piece of information and sometimes we have to stop and think whether or not we believe what we are reading.
