Early Years Professional Status

* The first wave of practitioners achieving Early Years Professional Status have been receiving their letters of confirmation this month. They include Rebecca Johnson, early years manager from Eureka! Museum for Children in Halifax, the only museum in the country with an on-site nursery; Julie Brierley, a teacher who owns Harlequin nursery near Scarborough and completed the course at Leeds Metropolitan University; Margaret Wilson, deputy manager of St Martin's Pre-School Centre, Morecambe, who studied through the Open University; and Sharon Goate, director of First Class Day Nursery in South Benfleet, Essex, who is now looking to work on a consultancy basis as a EYPS mentor.
