(Photograph) - Four-year-old Lauren Bullard is among 307 children from more than 40 primary schools in Plymouth, Devon, to have their metabolism measured by EarlyBird, a 12-year study into the causes of diabetes. Dr Linda Voss, EarlyBird co-ordinator, said so-called 'adult' diabetes had reached epidemic proportions and was beginning to affect children. 'If nothing is done to stop this, one in ten of today's children will get diabetes in their lifetime,' she said. Photo: John Allen/Plymouth Evening News
