Mrs Elder, senior director of the Childcare Solutions nanny agency for the past 20 years, said she would be urging the Government to extend the childcare tax credit to parents who employed nannies. 'It is simply a fallacy to think that only wealthy parents employ nannies, a perception that exists in Government and needs to change,' Mrs Elder said.
