Ethnic minority workers will be recruited into childcare

Ethnic minority workers will be recruited into childcare with the help of a 48,716 grant to Aberdeen City Council under the new European Objective 3 funding programme. The money, which comes from a 28m fund to boost skills and training across Scotland, will be used to help train ten people of ethnic minority origin who speak English as a second language to SVQ Level 2 in childcare. North Edinburgh Childcare has also received a grant of 49,445 for its Childminders Outreach Training project. For details see www.objective3.org.
