Nursery World - Family-friendly employers step into spotlight

* The search is on to find Jersey's most family-friendly employers. Jersey Child Care Trust is distributing competition leaflets on the Channel Island so parents can nominate their employers. Winning employers will receive a certificate and publicity during the Island's first Children's Week, which is from 26 March to 1 April.

Jersey Child Care Trust is distributing competition leaflets on the Channel Island so parents can nominate their employers. Winning employers will receive a certificate and publicity during the Island's first Children's Week, which is from 26 March to 1 April.

Trust executive director Barbara Wallace said, 'We know that there are many excellent employers out there. They are flexible when staff have a sick child or a hospital appointment, they recognise the stresses of working full time with a family, and they genuinely try to help staff to balance work and family life.'

Those who think their bosses need to become more family-friendly can also enter their names and the Trust will send them a copy of their Employer's Tool Kit offering practical ideas and suggestions on flexible working and childcare support.
