First Trust Fund

Three early years organisations in Wales are to benefit from a 9m boost to a trust fund set up by the Welsh Assembly for deprived areas. Ynyscynon early years centre was awarded 3,000 for a toy library and a further 350 to help cover room rental and staffing costs, while Flint Early Years Forum has secured 2,000 to promote events such as storytelling and puppet shows, and the Caia Park area of Wrexham is to receive 890 for play equipment. Social justice minister Edwina Hart announced ongoing support for the Communities First Trust Fund following a recent evaluation of its work by consultants. The fund, which is administered by the Wales Council for Voluntary Action, will receive 3m a year for the next three years.
