Free health book will help you talk to children

* The National Eczema Society has published a colourful new booklet to help children aged four to six understand the condition - and Nursery World has 200 copies to give away. It tells the story of six-year-old Alisha, who has eczema, and explains the types of treatments she has to use. Alisha's Eczema also explores some of the factors that can trigger eczema, such as certain foods, contact with pets and changes in temperature, and explains why children with eczema sometimes need to be given a little special attention and consideration. The booklet is a useful tool for both parents and childcarers and gives them an opportunity to talk about the subject with affected children and their peers in a relaxed way. It was written by 15-year-old Rowena Roy, whose brother had eczema, as part of her English studies and was brought to the attention of the National Eczema Society by her GP. For your free copy please write to Nursery World/Eczema Storybook, National Eczema Society, Hill House, Highgate Hill, London N19 5NA by 5 May.
