Free healthy school lunches on offer to primary school children

Free healthy school lunches are to be on offer to primary school children in Durham, Newham and Wolverhampton, Children's Secretary Ed Balls announced last week.

Durham and Newham will provide free school meals to all primary schoolchildren and Wolverhampton will pilot an extension of the currenteligibility criteria. The pilots are funded by the Department ofChildren, Schools and Families and the Department of Health and will runfor two years from September.
