Glasgow city council predicted last week that more than 60 striking nursery nurses would return to work from 1 June and that more than 90 of the 127 local authority nurseries would be operating. At a mass meeting on 26 May nursery nurse members of Unison rejected the council's final offer of 9.83 an hour plus a lump sum of 2,500, with 445 voting to reject the offer against 287 voting to accept it.
