Inspections for scottish care providers using the Care Commission's new one-to-six grading system are to begin next month. Nurseries, playgroups and childminders will be awarded marks in three to five areas: care and support or information, environment, staffing and management/leadership. The grading will be presented with at-a-glance report cards and backed up by detailed reports (News, 13 December). The first will be published on 1 July. For details see www.carecommission.com.
