Grants for 100 voluntary sector organisations

More than 100 voluntary sector organisations will receive a total of 46m in grants over two years as part of the Children, Young People and Families grants programme.

The beneficiaries include the British Association for Early ChildhoodEducation, 4Children, Daycare Trust and Families Need Fathers. The ChildPoverty Action Group and Together for Children will get 237,000to deliver 'economic well-being' through children's centres. PaulaTwigg, CPAG welfare rights manager, said, 'We are delighted to havereceived funding. It will enable the development of a strategic approachin children's centres to making sure families receive their fullbenefits and tax credits entitlement, by ensuring staff have the skillsand knowledge to help maximise take-up.'
