Guidance on approving home childcarers has been released by Ofsted. Approving home childcarers - Guidance for inspectors, published last week and available on www.ofsted.gov.uk, sets out the procedure for registered childminders applying for approval to care for one or more children in the home of the children's parents, with advice for inspectors on how to plan and manage approval interviews. Earlier this month Ofsted published Are you ready for your inspection?, a guide to inspections of care and educationfor providers, and in May it released three sample inspection notebooks showing the information inspectors gather and the guidance provided, covering childminders, daycare and funded nursery education - all available on www.ofsted.gov.uk.
