Happy with Ofsted

There has been much nervousness and negative press coverage about the handover of the inspection of daycare settings from social services to Ofsted. We recently opened an exciting and innovative 1.7m nursery in Richmond, Surrey. My colleagues and I found our whole experience with Ofsted enlightening and positive.

We recently opened an exciting and innovative 1.7m nursery in Richmond, Surrey. My colleagues and I found our whole experience with Ofsted enlightening and positive.

The two inspectors we were assigned worked with us and we were more than happy to fast-track our application through the system, as it had initially been held up over the summer. At every stage they were encouraging and supportive. We were initially concerned and fearful of the whole Ofsted inspection process, but in the end we could not have wished for a more positive experience.

I would like to reassure my colleagues within the industry that if you are competent and confident with your role, there is nothing to fear from an Ofsted inspection.
