In brief...

Students who have obtained the Council for Awards in Childcare and Education level 3 diploma in childcare and education will find it easier to access university places following a decision to judge the qualification as being equivalent to three A-levels. The Universities and Colleges Admissions Service has decided to award the diploma a maximum of 360 tariff points on its rating scale for access to higher education, following extensive work with CACHE. This is the same as three A-levels. Edexcel is in talks with UCAS about awarding points for its certificate and diploma in childcare.
