The Queen has become a patron of the Council for Awards in Children's Care and Education as a result of incorporating the National Association for Maternal and Child Welfare. CACHE has been administering the NAMCW awards since the Association closed its London offices last September. The courses prepare 14- to 18-year-olds for parenthood or for a childcare and education vocational training course, or both. The Queen was a patron of NAMCW and has given CACHE the royal seal of approval.
