The first comprehensive framework for maternity services in Scotland has been unveiled by health cooperation with mothers, midwives and obstetricians, the new Framework lot Maternity selvices sets out standards of care to offer women before, during and after giving birth. It takes the position that childbirth is not an illness but a major life experience which women, their partners and health professionals should work and together on to make positive and safe. Ms Deacon said, Our aim is to ensure that children across Scotland get the best possible start in life even before birth.'
