There is still a tendency to hear people talking about the 'terrible two-year- olds', as if all two-year-olds do is have tantrums and say 'No'.

Less extreme, but still negative, views include believing that they are 'hard work' - meaning all that smelly nappy changing - and that it is hard to 'get anything from them' as they have 'little concentration' and 'can't sit still in a group'. This is a very unfair judgement on a two-year-old and not a true or kindly appraisal of their nature.
