Increasing numbers of children in Edinburgh are in pre-school education, according to figures from the city council's education department. It found that 93 per cent of the city's four-year-olds and 73 per cent of three-year-olds are now in nursery education. The city council said that it expected to have more than 80 per cent of three-year-olds attending pre-school by June.
