Integrated inspections of local authority children's services began last week. The new Ofsted inspections will report on all education and social services managed or commissioned by councils, as well as health and youth justice services. Ofsted will begin short-notice school inspections on 12 September. Parents will fill in a questionnaire beforehand, and inspection reports will be shorter.
