Interview - Bronwen Cohen, Chief executive of Children in Scotland

Policy & Politics
Dr Cohen has announced she will be retiring from her role in July, 22 years after she joined Children in Scotland.

What have been your greatest achievements as chief executive?

As chief executive for more than two decades I've helped raise the profile of Children in Scotland and contributed to a greater understanding of how important arts can be for children.

One of my greatest achievements was helping to launch the Making Space award, an international award funded by the Scottish government that recognises innovative, creative and sustainable buildings or spaces for children and young people.

I also feel positive about what we have done for the workforce and the new models we have explored, such as the Scottish Pedagogue model, which if implemented would upskill the early years workforce and provide more of a career structure.
