Kids Planet acquires 19th nursery

Business Management
Nursery group Kids Planet has bought a 60-place nursery in Stockport.

The nursery group, which operates settings in the north and north-west of England, acquired Happy Day Nursery in Davenport, Stockport last month.

Re-named Kids Planet Davenport, the nursery, which was established over 40 years ago, is the group’s 19th setting, bringing the total number of places offered by Kids Planet to over 1,800.

The nursery group’s other settings are in Cheshire, Manchester and Liverpool, with 13 currently rated outstanding and five awaiting inspection. In last year's Nursery Chains, Kids Planet claimed the number one spot for quality.

Last August, Kids Planet’s chief executive Clare Roberts revealed to Nursery World plans to open five more sites over the next 18 months, as well as acquiring existing nurseries, after securing a £10 million investment from BGF.
