The deal sees Kindred Nurseries grow to 23 settings, with further acquisitions planned this year. The group has sites in London, and the South East and South West of England.
ABC Rainbow Day Nurseries was founded in 1984 by Myra Argentieri. She opened the setting in Rayleigh Essex first before expanding to meet demand years later with a second site in Westcliff-on-Sea. Combined, the settings provide 125 childcare places.
Chief executive of Kindred Nurseries Ruth Pimentel said, ‘This fabulous group of nurseries will be a great match for the rest of our family. Myra’s passion was evident, and she was keen to know that the settings would continue to be looked after and further developed. We are excited to start a new phase, with ABC Rainbow Day Nursery Ltd being a key part of that development.’
Ms Argentieri said, ‘The Rayleigh and Westcliff-on-Sea nurseries have been a huge part of mine and my family’s life for the past 38 years. Over the years, the passion and commitment of not only ourselves, but also our excellent team, has driven the success of our nurseries.
Family First
Family First has also bought another nursery, Little Explorers in Rochester, Kent. 
The nursery group, which operates settings across London, Essex, Buckinghamshire and Kent now has 43 sites and more than 2,800 places.
Little Explorers Day Nursery was previously owned by Tara Anwar who decided to sell the setting to exit the sector and pursue other interests.
