Little Scholars at Langside College in Glasgow

(Photograph) - Scotland has opened its only Gaelic-speaking nursery unit offering provision for children aged nought to three. The unit is part of Little Scholars at Langside College in Glasgow. Nursery director Maureen Guinea said, 'The whole idea is to keep the language alive.' Children attending usually have Gaelic-speaking grandparents or parents and will go on to attend one of the city's Gaelic primary schools. The nursery unit is run in partnership with Glasgow City Council.
