London Mozart Players tune into clubs

A new guide aimed specifically at playworkers, many of whom cannot read music nor play an instrument, will help 'thousands of kids have fun with music' according to Sir James Galway, principal guest conductor of the London Mozart Players. Music for Everyone is a joint venture between the London Mozart Players and the Kids' Club Network with sponsorship from Nestle UK. 'As a young lad in Belfast,' said Sir James, 'I started my musical life playing the penny whistle in the local bands. Now, thanks to this simple-to-follow guide, kids can have fun with all sorts of musical games and maybe even form their own band.'

Music for Everyone has been sent free to all 3,000 Kids' Clubs Network members. The guide gives ideas on how to explore different aspects of music, from sound and rhythm to making simple percussion instruments from household items with step-by-step instructions. The activities are designed so that they can either be dipped into for five minutes at a time or for a whole session to be based around them.
