London nursery group sells to investors

Business Management
Little Garden Day Nurseries, a group of four settings in London, has been bought by an investment company.

August Equity has acquired the nursery group, which operates settings in Brentford, Hammersmith, Clapham and Kentish Town.

The private equity company has plans to expand the group beyond the four nurseries.

Little Garden Day Nurseries was established 30 years ago by Anne de Zoysa and Sue Woodford-Hollick, who are now retiring from the childcare sector.

It is believed that the existing staff team will continue to work at the nursery group.

In 2013, August Equity created the Minerva Education Group to operate independent schools for three-18-year-olds in London and the South-East.

Ms de Zoysa and Ms Woodford-Hollick said, ‘We’re sad to be leaving Little Garden Day Nurseries after so long but are particularly pleased to be selling to investors who plan to use their substantial resources to back the existing team, enhance the service and expand the group. We wish everyone the very best for an exciting future.'
