The author of the children's book Where the Wild Things Are has told parents who think that the new film adaption of the book is too frightening for children to 'go to hell', said the Guardian. Maurice Sendak said he would not tolerate parents' concerns about the story being too scary. The film comes out later this year.

Children as young as seven are to be offered careers guidance under anew Government scheme being trialled in primary schools, reported theBBC. Pupils will be provided with a mentor and visit universities andworkplaces. One aim of the scheme is to get parents to think about whatjobs their children might want to do.
